Three Drives unleashed Greece 2000 back in 1997. 1997. Man, I feel old. Since its release, its had a myriad of remixes and versions from the likes of Lost Tribe, Peace Division and Man With No Name to name a few.
It was Hooj Choons, that loveable scamp of a label, who resurrected the tune for the commercial crowd in 1998 with the aforementioned mixes on vinyl and CD but its Lost Language who really breathed new life into the legendary track with two bumper packs of mixes from DJ Chus, DJ Shog, Moonwatcher, Leama & James Davis and Plastic Angel.
It was the Man With No Name Remix of the record that attracted me on the Hooj release but this set of remixes incorporate a batch of styles from chunky Iberian house (DJ Chus), hard house, trance and ambient. DJ Chus dropped the most interesting mix; taking in his chunky Iberian style but lacing it with a bit of trance as well. G&M Project provided a trance mix as did DJ Shog. Moonwatcher's Sea Of Tranquility mix is a worthy finisher.
Although both packs had their own release numbers (LOST065) and (LOST066), they can be combined into one pack to form an epic whole. Like a full moon. Or something. Its important to go back every now and then to see how the times have moved on.
