Mr. C gets back to the Warehouse days with Push
Written by benz on 29-11-06 21:50 (2885 views) (11 comments)
Most world-renowned djs sit pretty on their wad of cash, treading the well-worn route of spinning tunes in clubs and making beats throughout their career. You’d be hard pressed to find a character whose various projects over the years have reached as far and as wide as Richard West — also known as Mr. C. A hugely acclaimed dj he is also a producer, a former MC as part of dance/rock crossover pioneers The Shamen and co-owner of one of London’s finest nightclubs — The End. On December 9th he is getting back to his acid house roots with a set at PUSH Warehouse Sessions — a party with a seriously hot line-up of house and electro in an underground venue that is little known in clubbing circles. An interview with Jon the Baptist
Written by DJ Zone on 29-11-06 17:52 (3431 views) (16 comments)
If you’ve been in the trance/hard trance scene for less than three years, then you may be forgiven for not knowing just who Jon the Baptist is. If you’ve been in the scene for more than three years, then you clearly have been living under a rock or going to the wrong clubs! With a production list of tracks as long as the arms of Lennox Lewis and remix credits as long as Victoria Silvstedt’s legs, Jon the Baptist is not only one of the most hard working dj/producers there is, but also one of the most talented. As a preview to his forthcoming set at Swamp on Friday 8th December at Club 414, John Collinson aka Jon the Baptist talks exclusively to DJ Zone. [Full Story]

Logic say farewell to Lab4
Written by Steve Milton on 28-11-06 00:21 (4440 views) (19 comments)
I’m sure it came as quite a shock to many in the hard dance world both clubbers, djs and promoters alike when Lab4 announced their partnership was to come to an end. Anyone with half a brain will have an opinion on Lab4 and usually voice it given the chance, irrespective of actual knowledge, but if you take a step back and look objectively at the achievements over the last 12 years then it really is difficult to criticise. From the obscurity of their industrial metal background with the band MAD to playing the largest events possible in the hard dance industry in front of thousands, both Adam and Lez have made it to the top and chose to bow out in style with farewell performances around the globe. Keeping it Real: interview with Father Ted
Written by K8-e on 26-11-06 21:49 (3696 views) (26 comments)
Where to start?! From the glory days of Nukleuz to fronting one of the most acclaimed hard dance labels in recent times (Riot! Recordings), to being at the forefront of the digital download revolution, Ed Real truly is one of the kings of hard dance. The Riot! parties at The End really were the stuff of legend and he’s as well known for his party antics as he is for his relentless dedication to the scene and his work. [Full Story]

Earproof yourself
Written by Adam Symbiosis on 24-11-06 02:40 (6672 views) (14 comments)
Hearing is probably one of the last things on people’s minds when they go out. With Funktion One, GAE, Martin and others all jostling to give you crystal clear clarity to your music you could be excused for thinking you’ll hear every last high hat and bass drum perfectly. Especially if it’s coming at you at 110 decibels. That’s where the problems begin though and it something that Peter Van Galen has dedicated his company to. So just how can you earproof yourself? Written by JC-TAKTIKAL on 24-11-06 02:27 (3962 views) (7 comments)
In just under a year and a half after moving to London from Birmingham Chris ‘The Captain’ Barratt, or Delia as I like to call him, has achieved more than most! At just the tender aged of 23 he has played all over the world, manages some of the biggest djs on the planet at one of the most prestigious agencies in the industry and co-promotes one of London’s most exciting new house club brands, Maximal. We caught up with the main man in question as he prepares for their biggest event so far at The Key featuring the mighty Switch. [Full Story]

A trip to the Zoo
Written by Adam Symbiosis on 22-11-06 21:50 (3667 views) (14 comments)
A visit to the zoo was in order and an invite had been issued. Come and see a mad cow, a plastic pony, an odd coloured cat and various other reprobates said the invite (or was that just my imagination). Natch. In any case it was a special night, a birthday night and I was visiting Zoology at Brixton’s Club 414.
