The jury was quite complimentary on the stop, they all voted yes to:

"Was the stop conducted in a location and in a way which minimised to the greatest extent possible recourse to lethal force?"

Oh I'm sure it was textbook, it was more a dig at our surveillance culture that there is actually part of London not with a camera. Wink

Very true. However these are highly trained professionals who spend hundreds of hours preparing for exactly this situation and working for the public good so there is innately a level of culpability for every action. "sorry sarge, I had the yips" doesn't quite cut it.

I love the differing opinions on the police. On one hand you have people who think they're incompentent power hungry thugs and on the other you have highly trained professionals.

The one factor that links them both is the human one. In a pressure situation, no matter what your training and experience, you can lose it and revert to instinct.
I've read real accounts from soldiers, who are all highly trained, who have shit themselves (litteraly) at the sound of gun fire and dived into the nearest bush cowering in fear.
The next time they go on patrol, nerves of steel.

There is no way to train for a life and death situation without actually putting yourself at risk. If there is no risk, there is no consequence.

I think it is fair to say that everyone on the Internet is annoying.

Why do you hate the police so much? Like it or not, they are fundamental to a civilised society. What would you propose as an alternative?

There is no alternative.

You love them if you want to, millions do.

I don't have to and believe me I don't.

WHY?

Eevery dealing I have had has been negative. From OTT force to being threatend.

When my brother was 18 they arrested him for a serious crime, my brother wasn't even there and they changed his account to suggest he was. It was o when my dad read the statement he pulled them to say he didn't say that. (They eventually arrested the correct person)

Theyre fucking liars and manage to get away nearly every time.

Look at that copper who used all that racist language against that bloke. Got away with it again.

Duggan. At first it was a bag full of lies and as usual they get away witg it again.

Fuck them all. I hate them.

When you are talking like an organisation like the met there will be power crazy thugs and highly trained professionals, some people are also both. Regardless of with being a human factor it is still not the point, cocking up is still cocking up.

No surprise seeing the usual ship of fools jumping enthusiastically on the bandwagon and 'protesting' outside Tottenham nick. What a fucking cheek. They should perhaps consider themselves fortunate that they live in a society which allows a bunch of criminals to rant like fishwives outside a police station without shooting the lot. A missed opportunity. I do hope all the poor fuckers who've been hurt or robbed by Duggan and his tribe over the years were adequately represented.

Couldn't disagree more. Duggan was clearly a scum bag, but the fact was he was unarmed and they shot him. Why not arm all the police to the teeth and let the
Blow away people at will whenever they feel like it. And yet again they get off.

If Duggan was such a known criminal then why the f**k did they not do their job and have him behind bars already? Because they're f*****g useless.

The streets are a better place without the likes of him walking them but that is irrelevant. The point is the police shot and killed an unarmed man. That's a page one no no for an armed response unit.

blimey, I actually agree with you on something for once! :o
