I'm a huge fan of music coming from a background with years of playing piano, singing, other musical instruments, basic music production, songwriting, and got into basic DJing after meeting a few friends who did DJing at a lot of the college parties I went to back then. A DJ friend sold me his basic board super cheap when I got to watch him perform and told him it looked really interesting. I played with it all the time and found it really addicting. I was able to spend some time looking at them perform in front of their set during these parties. Showbox Tutuapp Vidmate

I took a break from all the partying and music events after college. I'm still in my early to mid 20s so college is still a pretty recent memory for me. In a lot of ways, I miss the music scene and I've been thinking about pursuing it as a career.

Anyone here who is a professional DJ like to share some experiences what it's like doing it at the pro level? Likes and dislikes? Are you able to make a full time living out of it? If not, what jobs do you do on the side to support it? And how much can you typically make through it? I'm in NYC, is it important to be in a particular location to pursue it?

Hi,
Going after a career in DJing is going to be riskier than a 'normal' career, but as they say: "if you don't play, you can't win". If you are a naturally creative person and have a good feel for music, then that makes you suitable for the job, making it worth it.

Thanks!!
