A warm welcome return to the UK for Mr Sam with this beautifully engineered tech-trance monster. Out now on Maelstrom Records label, ‘Lyteo’ is bound to already be in many DJ’s boxes.

Belgium based producer, Mr Sam has remixed the tracks of electronic music giants such as Timo Mass, Delerium, Todd Terry and Blank & Jones. And whilst we’re talking credentials I ought to mention that he’s had productions already out on labels such as Nebula, Intensive, Armada and Black Hole.

‘Lyteo’ has been played all over Ibiza and at many of this summer’s festivals with support from Tiesto, Paul van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Judge Jules, Marco V…need I say more?!?

Clubbing

The original mix rolls nicely with a funky yet deep baseline, teasing with snippets of the vocal which eventually layer up into dreamy pads that work perfectly with the tough kick that is maintained throughout. The breakdown uses a simple but uplifting riff that falls beautifully into place with the rest of the track once it all drops back in. All trance lovers need to check this out!

The remix is courtesy of Rank 1 who give the track a much tougher, darker edge that could easily be played in a peak time hard trance set. I personally prefer Rank 1’s original work and haven’t usually been a big fan of their remixes to date, but this is an exception to that rule and will be safely stashed in my CD case for the foreseeable future.
