Of course I wont. As I highlighted earlier I would hope that it can be done within the law.
I am not taking away from the potential good these groups can do. What I am worried about is the precedent they set. Police are understaffed. Vigilantes come in to do the work... What happens when this gets applied to other crimes. Neighborhood watch start setting up stings for would be burglars.
Perhaps it gets to a point where people just wander around looking for crimes to stop. Sure it is helping the police but shouldn't we be pressuring the Government to put more money into the police. To put better money into social services to help stop kids getting abused at home... Stopping someone from becoming a potential abuser (and creating a cycle of abuse) and then a burden on the state as someone in prison, is the best option of them all. I hope you wont argue that point.
I agree with you are saying so the bottom line is the government. This will fall on their heads should it all escalate due to their constant cuts. They know about their tightness(( Tories) and are doing fuck all about it so I am all for there being a revolution. Call that childish and naive They are the root cause of a lot of issues so I for one will not be surprised if it all kicks off within the next few years. Its bound to happen
The police response to "petty" crime is worrying, we often hear stories where the police say they are too busy to attend a burglary or fraud but I think that's extending to more serious crimes now.
One point to pick up, historically the Tories have been the party of law and order and put money into policing. Love her or loathe her, Thatcher poured millions into the police in the 1980s, because she knew she'd need them to enforce her union-busting laws.
May's approach to policing has been the complete opposite, just look at her stance at the Home Office, and I think this is going to be her downfall.

Yip, May is a waste of space IMO
I'd save pandas over May.
