Sat May 19 - The South London Soul Train Express keeps coming on stronger - 4 carriages locked and fully loaded to deliver the absolute finest in funk, soul, groove, disco, jazz, hip hop + beyond. Level 1 - SLST host JAZZHEADCHRONIC welcoming 45 vinyl slinger PERRI KAYE + Legendary Acid Jazz Pioneers, the positively stage damaging NIGHT TRAINS (Live) + we got so much more on 4 floors at The CLF Art Cafe.
LEVEL 1 - NIGHT TRAINS
Original acid jazz records pioneers Night Trains return to the international live scene after a 15 year hiatus to celebrate the global release of their new 30 year anthology album "Night Trains Lovesick 1987-2017" on Acid Jazz Records (amazon / spotify / itunes etc) distributed worldwide by P.I.A.S.
Night Trains were formed in 1987 by bassist / producer / dj Hugh Brooker. Spotted while playing at Soho's legendary wag club by Gilles Peterson, he signed them to his and Eddie Piller's new Acid Jazz Records label, and alongside the Brand New Heavies, the James Taylor Quartet, Galliano and Jamairoqui became part of the first wave of acid jazz artists to enjoy international success + now (2018) are set to return with a vengeance to wreck The South London Soul Train Live Stage.
Then on LEVEL 2 - The men with a plan and an uninsurable record collection - Mighty DJ's SNOWBOY & DEAN RUDLAND drop more Soul and Funk Beasts on 45 direct to the whole ah yoh soul.
LEVEL 3 - S'all about too damn hot SLST residents - Mukatsuku records Founder, the outstanding NIK WESTON and long standing DJ Partner and ridiculously talented DJ HUW 72 taking you on another sublime globalistic Safari across planet groove.
The SLST 4 Floor Line up completed in the BASEMENT by WAH WAH 45s DJs DOM SERVINI & SCRIMSHIRE, delivering a smorgasbord of palatable soul joints from the flipside. Funk to Soul, Disco to Boogie, Then to Now. Always on point!
