If you can't even admit the possibility that Chomsky might have been wrong at some point, how do you propose that your fantasy mission to untie the knot of Middle Eastern affairs is going to work?

Chomsky is human, we all make mistakes; once again that should go without saying. Still completely disagree that he "denied" the genocide of Cambodia after the facts were well acknowledged by the human rights organizations and other independent sources that are the basis for his conclusions.

It was a "fantasy mission" to Iraq as well and no matter what the cynics say we had Human Shields at 6 sites critical to the people of Iraq and as a direct result of their presence Iraqi lives were in fact saved. Less and less people are buying the cynical bullshit thereby empowering themselves to act in ways that truly make a difference. We can and will save even more life which is indeed saving ourselves and our beautiful planet; just as soon as we realise that we can.

Or we can just winge about what powerless and apathetic twats we are.

Yeah I am definitely crazy, but if being sane means being a cynic well than fuck that shite, you can have it. Wink

And thank you for your cynicism with regard to my "fantasy mission"; such doubt is fuel for my fire. FEED ME! Devilish

Chomsky is such deep cover CIA that he does not even know he is; and that is why his word is so pure. Not so sure about Chomsky; well then who are you sure of?

There is no one, as there is no need to be sure

Chomsky's an mit prof funded by the milcon's.

>>In 1958, the Department of Defense spent an already impressive $91 million in support of "academic research." By 1964, the sum had reached $258 million and by 1970, in the midst of the Vietnam War, $266 million. By 2003, however, any of these numbers, or even their $615 million total, was dwarfed by the Pentagon's prime contract awards to just two schools, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Johns Hopkins University which, together, raked in a combined total of $842,437,294. <<

How much 850 million

Anyway pk10 http://www.rafah.vze.com/ is a place I visit should you happen across these folk please give them my respects.

May your journey be successful..

That's a pretty big call. Without access to the target lists, how can you be so sure that your presence affected operations by the military?

the same sites were all targeted in the first Gulf slaughter, the same types of sites (water treatment, electric power plants, etc were hit elsewhere in Iraq - this time as well) and big American multi-nationals get the multi-million dollar contracts to "rebuild" that which we destroyed so why would they not bomb them?

It is no accident that none of the Human Shield sites were hit, but either way, we were right to protect these vital sites.

Bump
In honour of Ken's visit, I thought I'd bump this. This thread is a good example of the excellent debates HFers have had and the time and effort people put into their posts.

I wonder where Thumpah is these days.
