I disagree, it's a dumb comment.

The way you describe it is as a scene that is scrabbling for people and not a scene that is seeing more parties, more music and more radio shows coming through than I’ve seen in years.

A few nights in 414 and packing out protocol in Vauxhall is hardly reminiscent of the scene it used to be, with the exception of frantic and timeless at koko and scala it is predominantly a small club scene now, it's not packing out the bigger venues etc. By any measure it isn't what it was and saying otherwise is pretty rose tinted.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those that could not hear the music -Nietzsche

So the scene only exists in London? OK then.

Even if it did you've missed off several other parties that are doing very well.
But it's OK, you're entitled to your opinion and you've probably more awareness of the goings on in Hard House than anyone else on this site.

Take the sand out of your crack and calm down, you are making yourself look silly. What are these other parties that are doing very well? educate me rather than just throw around insults.

For me? Its dead. Havent been HH raving in years and probably wont ever again. Why? Because I prefer techno and as I dont go out every weekend anymore, I need to pick my 'battles' when I do go out and techno trumps HH every time (for me anyway)

I'm willing to admit It is entirely possible it is may be having some form of a rennaisance compared to where it has been for a few years but it certainly isn't the biggest show in town like it used to be.

I cant see any scene being as lively as HH was 1999-2005/06. Those were great years. Fridge, Mass and Brixton Academy all rammed to the rafters on the same night playing similar hard dance.

What was the insult?

Bioshokk and Twist are two that spring to mind. Riot has started doing reunions again, the is a big event in Vauxhall at the end of April that is focusing on harder music. Might even be called, We Like It Hard. A party in Southend called Re:Form is doing very well for itself and looking at doing parties in Town.
Andy Farley and BK both have separate 6+ hour sets coming up at XOYO. Andy Farley also regularly does 10-12 hour sets.
I'm not even really trying either. If I was to make an effort to go through FB I could find more and there is some big stuff coming up further north. Rob Tissera has a big event upcoming.

Does a genre only have to be alive if the events are attended well?

Can't it still be alive if folk like only listening to it at home or on their phones when travelling or whatever?

These folk who used to go out and don't anymore, lots still like the music I'd imagine.

If the music is still being made, and listened to, the genre isn't dead.

And dead. Why is it only dance genres that have to get written off when the attendances drop? It's silly is that.

Critics like to be either black or white. Dead or not. That's just daft.
