First video sounds like someone falling down some stairs.

Are all Ableton sets just random button pushing, or is there a sense of flow that goes on with performances with gear like this?

From the majority of bits I've seen on the internets, it's all random button mashing tied in to random clips...

Second video is quite interesting though, but again, do performers really put that much effort into the mashing of buttons when it comes to a club situation?

Err... drum n bass, IDM etc. have this kinda chopping effect used in them.

While you wouldn't do an entire set of it, it's great to have as a weapon.

Dave - Check the links below out before commiting to the APC - You can get two Novation Launch Pads for the price of one APC.

The only draw back may be the lack of faders, but I you could buy one Launch Pad and still have enough to get a fader controller!

Price is awesome too

I'd want a proper set of faders, and I wouldn't want to carry more than one midi controller tbh.

It's a shame the APC isn't a standalone MIDI controller, making it USB only is a proper oversight imo.

I'd always want a USB connection, personally. My midi ports just get left unused.

true, but this could have breathed a new life into legacy standalone products, such as hardware samplers or other stuff (like a lighting desk)

It's certainly a nice looking piece of kit, had my eye on it.

although cheers Balt for pointing the direction towards Novation Pads. Thumbs up

Certainly with price, is food for thought.

big thanks for the heads up. I've been working my magic on the missus so long about the apc40 that i've ignored anything else. But that looks rather awesome and for that price could be very much worth a look. I currently have the mpd 24 so could have that running along side for the faders. Although that said faders arent all that essential for the latest live project i'm working on.
