I'm not really in agreement with it due to people being a bit stupid and previous incidents of paediatricians being targeted, etc. And having the same name as someone who is "inclined" can put a big target on you. People also forget that these people are humans with families who have to deal with the fall out.

As Quin said, highlight an issue to the police or other authority but don't take matters into your own hands. Mobs become yobs.

Finally - if you have to hide something you are doing, you already know it's not legal. What they did was assault someone on behalf of someone else. Doesn't make them any better than people who assault muslims because they're muslims and therefore must be terrorists.

I agree. the innocent people that get get brought into it by association is wrong. The hunters are always saying to leave family memebers, workplaces etc out if it as has nothing to do with them.

I feel, it would be better to get the whole case lined up and as soon as they conviction has happened, whack it on their websites/FB and make sure you have edited out any links to work place or family/friends.

Im definitely all for it though, these monsters need to be off our streets and kids innocence protected by any means necessary. They do not condone violence or act violent in any way and as Ive said, almost 100% conviction rate says it all.Numbers dont lie IMO and you often hear the police saying well done and thank you. Its a great thing they are doing Smile

I am all for them being nabbed, but I'd prefer the police forewarned and in attendance, and actually, making the approach to the offender.

In addition, catching any of them could bring about further intelligence on other offenders, so I am in favour of this kind of action.

One of the groups give all the evidence to the police before they sting and the police wait around the corner while they do a citizens arrest. They are bloody fantastic in how they operate Smile Ive watched all their vids and its very well planned and organised.

A lot of police are actually thankful for their efforts as they know, they dont have the resource to tackle this ever increasing problem. One of the downsides to social media, its so easy for groomers to target young children.

BTW - you want to be a bit careful of throwing the nonce word around indiscriminately.

Further - if kids are that innocent, explain Jamie Bulger.

Final edit - that comment wasn't to start a fight. Not all kids are innocent and there are many kids that are fucked up too. I'm not defending paedos in any way, shape or form but looking at it somewhat more objectively because I don't have children. That doesn't disqualify me from having and voicing an opinion Wink

You are obviously entitled to you opinion and thanks for taking the time to put your arguments forward. I do however disagree with you.

The word nonce is in the Cambridge English dictionary so I feel that term is totally apt with the OP

http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/nonce

It looks like a lot of nonces were abused as children themselves which is even more tragic and just a horrible cycle. Doesnt matter if you have children or not, there is a clear, growing problem (especially with the rise of social media making it easier for nonces to groom innocent children) and some of these vile creatures approach 10 year old! 10 year olds! That is sickening to the core so I will back these groups as much as I can especially if they are doing it totally above board and as ive stated, 100% conviction rate. They are obviously doing something right, IMO anyway Smile

"One of" is a worrying thing considering you initially linked about 6 or 7...

In response to your other post, it's all very well telling people to leave family and friends out of it, but there have been families who have been abused and targetted and had to take on entire new identities in a town far away because once the mob gets into it, they don't care that it might be just that one family member and assume that everyone knew about it and must have been in on it.

Yeah, I was told to remove for T&C's which is fair enough Smile

The one I mention has been going for years so have nailed down the best tactic for maximum results. The others are learning and getting there. They all speak to each other and work together on their various stings.

Yip, one point I agree with you but I would still rather have a nonce off the street than potentially targeting my child when she gets a bit older. They need to tweak it or better yet, do it without advertising any of it and work closer with the police.

Their work has led to 42 convictions! I am confident the police do not have that level of conversion rate. Now the law has said they can carry on, so not really vigilantes if the law is on their side, surely?

Ten years today since Maddie disappeared.

Some folk in the news last week are saying she was sold to the gyppos.

Loads of people are saying they did it because a dog smelled blood or death on them?

On the Mccann case, I just feel sorry for the thousands of kids that go missing each year. Where is their airtime? Imagine how those parents feel when they are constantly seeing more and more money being thrown at the Maddie case.

Its an absolute tragedy whats happened, but time to let it go and focus on the children that are still alive.
