Siskin

» Connected (Standard Form Waiting For Stars Mix)

Reviewed by Pete M / Submitted 22-02-24 08:31

Label: Pure Progressive
Format: Digital
Genre: Progressive Trance

Siskin originally released this little gem back when Pure Trance was in its infancy. A young label growing up in an environment of bigger, adultier, labels can be daunting but Pure Trance has weathered the early storm, spawned Breaks, NEON, Electronic Architecture and Progressive, and unleashed 10 compilations. Which brings us to a new remix of Siskin's "Connected". The duo have moved down a more progressive path but that hasn't stopped Standard Form who, for want of a better word, has unleashed a cinematic mix. A 10 minute epic with fluttery vocals, deep trance vibes and an all-round proggy essence.

To say this is epic would be not far from reality. In fact, its 10 minutes long. I miss 10 minute tracks. I do. I wish there were more of them and I commend I Like It Pure for catering for us peeps who adore epic tracks. This is deep, melancholic, proggy trance that pushes my buttons in so many happy ways. There's also a dub which strips away the vocal but keeps the epic build and lush synths. Its a winner, I reckon.
