Well, it may all sound a little far fetched and ridiculous, but personally I think these laws are a good thing. I for one hate being mugged by a row of people flyering (some of them very aggressively) when I leave a club. If I want your promotional material, I will ask for it, I don't want it shoved in my face only to have to take it home and dispose of it in the recycling. Promoters may just have to find a more ingenious way to promote their event...
I don't like any kind of aggression, one of the reasons I don't like to flyer is because of that, when I flyer I offer it if you are not interested you take it but if you aren't interested I prefere you don't take it.
Anyway, giving flyers out is a way to remind people you are still on and most of all is for who has got no access and/or easy access to internet.
When the weater is warm I like to flyer, I like to meet people that are coming out from the club.
It says on there that if you burgular alarm causes a newsence then you will be fined £100. So not only do you get all your stuff nicked you then have to pay a fine for bein burgled?

It doesn't really work like that, it happened to us few yeras ago we payed about £500 but it was because we left in my son's dog and we fortten to close the door of some rooms so the allarm was going on for a long time and someone called the police but I guest if someone go into your house would not make the allarm go on for such long time till will annoy someone and call the polise I reckon.

It's a fantastic idea as stated Ben, it's a free magazine for the punters but the promoters pay over the odds to advertise in them. They have the monopoly of the market as is the only way on the gay scene to get people to see your party & get listed & write ups on dj's etc. It costs a fortune & can be the biggest cost of a promotion, my first party I spent £2,000 on ads.
So flyers are the cheaper alternative to spread the word. I know it can be annoying when people are aggressive, but give us a break guys, we have to let you know about our events somehow.
MENTHOL - choonz 2 make u trance more easily! next party is 8th April @ Factory 2200-0500hrs. A nite of uplifting & euphoric trance & hard trance. This is a gay party but all welcome with no attitude. www.clubmenthol.net
