A quick word From Captain Yoji ahead Of Twisted's airport spectacular

Reported by mostwantedkat / Submitted 03-10-06 02:40

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, clubbers extraordinaire — welcome on board Twisted Airlines Flight 0710 for the maiden voyage of the sensational Airport clubbing concept. Our airport destination is The Fridge in London, our scheduled time of arrival 10pm. Your captains on this flight of musical fancy are international clubbing legends Yoji Biomehanika and Scot Project, who will be lifting you off the ground with a dazzling mix of hard dance, European trance, techno trance and hard house.

Your Head Steward will be Trevor McLachlan, ably assisted by guest cabin crew Latex Zebra. Both are on hand throughout the flight to warm you up with a stunning selection of the hardest most euphoric tunes as our flight rises higher into the atmosphere.

Should you require refreshment of a different nature, please feel free to unbuckle your seatbelts and visit the IceBox, where hosts Chemical Reaction will be serving up a filthy session of underground UK hard dance.

Emergency exits are to the front and rear of the plane but we guarantee you won’t want to use them until our flight lands at 6am. Should you wish to show your appreciation at any time during the flight simply blow on the whistle attached the lifejacket under your seat and wave your hands in the air.

In the event of your breath being taken away, you will find your oxygen masks in the compartments overhead. Please don’t worry, as this is a common occurrence at Twisted events. Please do not remove the masks from the plane for later use as club wear.

Advance boarding passes are available but can also be purchased at the passenger gate on the night. We thank you for travelling with Twisted Airlines and we hope you enjoy your flight.

Before we lift off, a quick word from Caption Yoji. For those of you whose feet have never left the ground for one of his awe inspiring sets, let us break it down for you. He is quite possibly the world's premier hard dance DJ. His appearance is almost as legendary as his mixing. He flies the world each and every weekend bringing the sound of Hellhouse Recordings to a fanatical following. His presence behind the decks is nigh on spiritual. And he's in London this weekend. So buckle up, extinguish all lighted materials and pin back your ears as the Captain himself takes over the inflight entertainment system…

The Airport tour consists of you and Scot Project. What’s your relationship like?

I have known Frank (Scot Project) for quite some time now, since he made a remix for my track ‘Ding-A-Ling’. This is also how my relationship with my manager Cyrus came about.

What attracts you to Scot Project as a dj?

His productions are great. We were more in line with the same sounds before but have both drifted apart in our own various styles and sounds.

The Airport tour kicks off at The Fridge on October 7th. I imagine you must spend a fair amount of time in airports dj’ing around the world. Which airport is the best, which one is the worst, and why?

I love Amsterdam Airport because they have a noodle stand exactly the same as Japan! But there are many bad airports, the one closest to you would be Heathrow! I have missed many gigs because of it!

Living inside Japan and looking out at the rest of the world, does it seem like other countries are years behind you technologically?

Well if you are speaking about gadgets, then I would say only a couple of years, not by much. Usually a new cool camera or phone, which is introduced in Japan is everywhere else within a year or two. The gap is definitely getting smaller as the world gets closer together.

Does it surprise you how much of a cult figure you’ve become at home and abroad? Why?

I did not know I was a cult figure!!! I think they are just excited fans whom I love and appreciate.

You had a watch designed specifically for your fans by Saiko. If you could have any gadget in the world designed for your fans, what would it be and why?

I would have a Cup Noodle named after me.

Your on-stage persona is incredibly striking — do you have an alter ego that you transform into when you step behind the decks?

Basically just my professional music mind that I switch into. So I guess you can say yes. But this persona is also with me all the time, but perhaps not as much as on stage.

Is there anywhere in the world that you wouldn’t play, and why?

Places where people only want to see me because of hype around my name or my looks. I like to play in places where I know the people are genuinely into my music, so I have made my manager very aware of this.

It’s a well known fact that you like to unwind at the Onsen Spa in Japan. How else do you manage to relax?

I like to spend time there with my wife and my little baby Rain. Spending time with them away from everything is what relaxes me.

Are you looking forward to playing at the 10th tidy Weekender?

Yes it has been some time since I played at a tidy weekend. I am looking forward to this very much!
