The Oxford Zodiac is a fiercely independent live music and club venue, which offers a real vibe and an exciting range of music styles and established club nights.
The Zodiac enjoys a well earned reputation as a prime venue on the national band circuit, and is a must for all visitors.
The Zodiac remains at the heart of our thriving local music and club scene.
Running as a music venue since 1989 (as The Venue) and named The Zodiac since 1995, the club was originally backed by Oxford greats Radiohead, Supergrass and Ride, and Radiohead filmed the video for Creep on the main stage.
Zodiac Director and promoter is Nick Moorbath, who has played in cult bands such as Ride and Hurricane #1. Nick and his partner Adrian Hicks have been promoting music for over 20 years - the pinnacle of which is the spectacular Radiohead festival in South Park, Oxford to an audience of 50,000 people. Quite a step from when they first put the band on as On a Friday many years ago.
The Zodiac is a favourite for festival warm ups and well known for secret or fan club shows, infamous sell-out shows have been The Strokes, Primal Scream, PJ Harvey - and a secret warm up gig with the awesome Black Rebel Motorcycle Club at Fuzzy Ducks club - their first gig in the UK!
The Zodiac is also host to The Club That Cannot Be Named, providing cutting edge bands - check out the website www.theclubthat.com
With a huge range of music and club nights from Folk, World, Indie, Metal, Hip Hop, Dance, Techno, House, Drum'n' Bass and so much more, open nearly every night of the week - The Zodiac is still Oxford's favourite hangout.
