» Space Age EP

Reviewed by Greg Zizique / Submitted 02-03-07 13:47

Label: Lot49
Format: 12" Vinyl
Genre: Breaks/ Electro/ House

2007 starts with a jam-packed schedule of heavy-hitting Tech-Funk from Lot49. American-born but Bristol-based James 30Hz Ginzberg kicks things off with his Space Age EP.

The Original begins with its roaring bass that builds into full-on 4/4 frenzy with it’s tripped out styled vocal that’s gonna appeal to the more hard core clubbers out there.

Alex Metric provides the remix of Space Age, with a break beat remix, turning up the pace and energy quite a few notches, and takes it to a whole new level. Opting for a style of bass-heavy breaks it works a treat on the floor, will easily fir into electro, house and breaks sets.

30Hz also teams up with label stalwart and breaks legend Meat Katie creating a big bass roller with high octane stabbing build-ups, packed with percussion.

Finally James joins forces with October, whom supplies a tech driven house cut, with a underpinning of techno for added measure. Watch this one on the dance floor.

With Lot 49 continuing to pioneer the Tech Funk sound (a combination of Electro, House, Breaks and Techno) they’ll continue with a massive release schedule, watch this space for Bassbin Twins, Dexter, Dylan Rhymes, Elite Force, D.Ramirez!
