Hot on the heals of there Buzz Chart number 1 'Gotta Move' and with the sun starting to shine, Phonetic showcase an exciting new project by Mark Wilkinson of (Dab Hands fame) with 5 heavyweight remixes.
As usual from the man behind Phonetic (Rob Roar), you always get a great song, and this one’s no stranger, the vocals of Nanchang Nancy give it what’s already been described as a “Basement Jaxx’esque” styled twist.
The Original is typical Mark material, which he does ever so well, good feeling uplifting beats and happy house feeling and a cool vocal song all blended together for igniting and shaking a funky floor. Jay Lamar supplies a big vocal houser, with a chunky feeling throughout it. Slightly more energetic then the original and a little more modern sounding styled house without going to electro sounding or on the other hand to soft, a balanced mix.
FNUK bring us a slightly more driving mix, grittier bassline and sound and a little more energy. A funky chunky bass with a cool sound is the main drive of the mix, which adds that little more depth to the sound and makes it appealing to a slightly later crowd and time of night. The Hooked Explosive Dub has a more chugging sounding edge and style, a floor builder if ever you heard one and loopy feeling, being in a hot location and the late summer nights benefit and suit this mix. Parallel Sound finishes things off with a more hypnotic feeling house floor mix, that has a cooler smoother vibe going on and deeper house arrangement.
If you like your house music with a catchy groovy song, this ones for you.
