Dubfunk

» Tiran EP

Reviewed by Greg Zizique / Submitted 23-05-07 11:58

Label: Dyami Records
Format: CD
Genre: Progressive House

Receiving props in the past from Hernan Cattaneo and Lucien Foort, Dubfunk is deeply rooted in the whole Tribal, Progressive and Breaks scene. Previous releases on Mashtronic and Dyami plus Dj sets around the world (Sharm El Sheikh etc) have helped Dubfunk to create a vast knowledge in his field.

The Original Mix is a gentle building soundscape of progressive house. A long epic workout with a deep bassline and broody beats. The Laid Mix opts for a slightly more energetic approach with a more electronic edge and more building feeling. It's hard to label the sound and Dubfunk himself prefers this, the Tiran EP for me, didnt really have any peaks or momentum to the flow so I personally found it rather lacking anything memorable, but fans of the progressive vibe will probably like it.
