DJ Jean

» Sexy Lady/ Eivissa

Reviewed by Greg Zizique / Submitted 02-06-07 18:32

Label: White Villa / Dancevilla
Format: CD
Genre: Electro House

DJ Jean, who hit these shores with his smash ‘The Launch’ in 1999 returns with some electro inspired tracks and vibes. Sexy Lady starts extremely promising with driving electro house beats and sound, then we get a girly vocal that im not honestly a fan of, it just doesnt seem to fit or work very slickly or well. It's a let down to what would be a good solid club cut with really nice production and great sounds.

In contrast to Sexy Lady, we get a more dirty club effort with Eivissa, no girly vocals, serious beats, cool bass and nice stripped down element which lets the music do the talking. After a nice buildup with some cool little changes here and there the track then opts for a change in style, for a more techy minimal electro styled vibe before hitting the bass back in for full effect. A solid effort from start to finish with some cool little highlights makes it a worthwile purchase.
