Daniel Wanrooy

» Dominica & Maybe Tomorrow

Reviewed by Greg Zizique / Submitted 21-06-08 19:39

Label: Black Hole
Format: Digital
Genre: Trance

Daniel Wanrooy half of Black Hole's production duo known as Progression which released their first artist album named 'Different Day, Different Light’ last year. For this release Daniel decided to produce something solo, resulting in two steady progressive tracks with some nice trancey twists.

Dominica starts off with a punchy and snappy drum and percussion with a driving bass and piano that sounds cool for the floor. Hitting you with both progressive and trance melodies and energy it twists up into a frenzy with some nagging and louder prouder keys for full effect. A great energetic passion is brought out through the vibe and release and is good to hear and keeps the feet tapping along.

Maybe Tomorrow has slightly less obvious immediate energy and veers down a more uplifting trance induced track. A big moody and pulsating atmospheric windy noise breakdown that when the main riff kicks in has a much more impacting power then the previous elements of the track and gives it a lease of life needed to carry it through I felt.
