Originally a hit back in 2002 on Direction after being picked up off Shaboom in 2001, this King Unique stormer featuring the vocals of Natalie Arnold, was sited by many as one of the defining moments of Matthew Thomas´ solo career.
Ready to captivate us once again, Wendel Kos provides an essential 2008 update. Picking up on the deep moody techno bass and house groove of the Original and developing it into a much more modern new present day sound. In keeping to the tracks essence the raw and cutting feeling of the vocals and lyrics are kept perfectly in tact.
Cool distorted delayed use of the vocals on the intro layer well into spacious use of the elements that charge into the main pensive part of Black A.M. and carries through to a slick progressive orientated sound, but with added depth and a constant energy throughout.
In some ways it’s like a very retrospective edged mix, but carefully crafted for a more modern dance floor destroyer. It has a tingly feeling that refreshes your spirit with the lyrics and melody. Perfect for the summer nights, and acts as a warmer for the months ahead too, it’s a very nice update on this classic.
