Golden Girls

» Kinetic (Prok & Fitch Remix)

Reviewed by Greg Zizique / Submitted 21-08-08 09:31

Label: Floorplay
Format: Digital
Genre: House

Floorplay chose to sign the classic house record “Golden Girls” giving it the serious remix treatment from the UK’s fast rising production and remix duo Prok & Fitch. Kinetic, originally released on R&S Records, and one of the Hartnoll brothers’ finest moments that became a staple in Orbital’s legendary live sets.

Prok & Fitch showcased an unofficial remix last year and instead of the usual route of doing a cover, they managed to sign the original record instead.

Prok & Fitch start their remix with a deep pulsating drum and glitchy crushed percussion effects that entwine into a deep charging bass. Using the main classic riff quickly in the track gives it the magic touch straight away and the floor memories flooding back with the vocal as well. An almost tech house bass with some cool body grooving elements and screeching noises build up back into Kinetic and releases a darn good amount of energy for a nice and modern updated version.
