» Changes In The City

Reviewed by Greg Zizique / Submitted 21-08-08 13:24

Label: Floorplay
Format: Digital
Genre: House, Tech House

For their second release, Floorplay present Spanish producer Alex Font, Alex made the move from the Mediterranean climate to London and the call of London's 24 hour underground party scene. Cutting his teeth DJ'ing in Valencia and quickly moving to playing around Spain’s best venues from Madrid, Barcelona to Ibiza. Floorplay owners Prok & Fitch chose to sign up "Changes in the City" after the first listen.

The Original mix is a dark techy house styled ride that teases a deep tension out of the flow with its bubbly bass and almost nagging extra percussion line that all gels together and builds developing into a massive swirling breakdown. An old school rave style synth then effectively cuts the speaker and releases a floor moment.

Prok & Fitch turn out their own interpretation of the track which follows their current trend and wave of remixes, main room house with a modern tech slant and twist. Chuggy deep and a bit darker in some ways to Alex’s Original the guys pick up a great and cool underground looping effect that has a short and sharp snappy retrospective edge.
