» Opium Remixes

Reviewed by Greg Zizique / Submitted 22-01-09 20:38

Label: Destination?
Format: Digital
Genre: Techno, Tech House, Electro

One taste was never going to be enough of Opium which rests with a bubbly tech offering, laid back, stripped back in its affair and gentle and inserting that introduces new sounds into the pot. A late breakdown gives the track a much needed edge for the floor and stops rattling which gives you a fresh sounding synthy bass.

Schmidt's Good Old Fashioned House Music Remix to me sounds more techy house orientated and pumping with slamming edges throughout. Bags of percussive loops and glitches with rides adding to the crescending feeling it’s certainly got a punch for the floor. Expect a good response from this mix with the no holes barred direction and moody shaking bass.

MPI Project use a techno attitude with deep and sparse scatter sounds and effects with a nagging approach later on that picks up the flow and energy levels for some dirty grooving and feet moving and electronic blips and pickups with a haunting deep synth use as well to round it off.
