EL-EL releases the fourth stage of the Missing Pieces puzzle box. Suite XVI is the main title of the series and we have now reached Stage Four. Four tracks, unreleased but featured in some form on other releases, now see the light of day.
Blake Jarrell provides a tough, brooding, proggy take on Stage One by Space Manoeuvres and its DARK! The feel of the Pariah mix has been stripped down and replaced by a rumbling bass-line and the eerie samples take pride of place. A really good start to the EP!
Wide Eyed Angel by Origin is given a remix by Paul Pearson in his Eternal State remix. A mid-tempo banger almost as foreboding as the original. Energetic vibes throughout. I like this one.
Witchcraft by Eeike Kleijn is the longest track on the EP, clocking in at just over 10 minutes and is again another proggy beast. What is it with EL-EL and proggy beasts? Nice! Anyway, this one meanders along at a leisurely pace and really takes its time. I like this one too.
Magdelayna provides a Rebirth mix of Stage One and it is a luscious mix of ambient chill music that closes out the EP. Its a good ending, I feel, and a very nice mix of the track.
The puzzle continues...
