For me the word retiring means you are giving it up if someone is a DJ / producer and they say I am retiring in means they're giving it up if they say I am taking some time out to reevaluate my sound that means they're going to the studio and we got an album coming just a thought

It's usually a business strategy in this game.

Sell out the last ever party and sell out the reunion.

And repeat...

I agree. But a few of the big names "retired" and then came back a few years later.
Easy to knock it on the end when the gigs dry up rather than move with the times or just stick with it. A bit of versatility and it's not an issue, just play one of your other styles.
We're seeing the same in the Trance scene. All these DJs that sacked off Trance for EDM are now creeping back now Trance is massive again.

Excited, but you're right, EDM would struggle to make anybody feel alive.

I

I would agree with you, it doesn't really get the creative juices flowing. EDM to me it's just slowed down hardstyle and for me hardstyle is just noise however having said that, I can make the exception of it for a few.

Haha. Just remember at the HF Xmas party, loads of the Trance DJs that all played earlier were proper stomping to the HH that came on later.

I believe a couple of DJs might have been caught going for it on the podiums...

And one fell off Wink

It's Sunday afternoon, everybody has gone home hours ago after what was a blinding Saturday night. But there are a few people sitting in a room with the curtains drawn hardly speaking except to suggest that everybody does another double header.
That's hard dance today.

It was ever thus.
