This isn't something I broadcast to potential employers.
I just hate being around people that think they know what they're doing and think they're something special just because they bullshitted their way into a management position and now they have a title and some power; especially when practically everything they do impacts negatively on the business and results in both mine and my co-workers lives being made difficult.
This place has had 3 finance managers in the last 3 years.
The last one was the nicest / mellowest guy I'd met in ages and within 9 months he quit because the way this place is "run" (which makes absolutely no sense in many respects) was making him constantly frustrated and angry. He was a management accountant and spent the majority of his time dealing with pissed off suppliers / customers and fixing historic errors.
When he left I was temporarily put in his position and had to do a lot of what he had to, along side my IT support responsibilities, which is when I really started to realize just how fucked this place is as I got see how things work behind the scenes with the management and how their bizarre decisions affect the finances and reputation of the company.
Now we've got a new finance manager who's now been here 6 weeks, within 2 weeks she wanted to leave because these morons withheld details about her job role, were blaming her for historic mistakes she couldn't possibly have been responsible for, spends most of her time trying to fix the masses of errors instead of doing what she came here to do and only last week was forced to tears because once again the management we blaming her for something she wasn't responsible for. In her own words "she feels like she just can't do anything right".
This is why I have such a disdain for management here, because they've made us eat shit in order to safeguard their own positions. The CEO here even brought her fucking son in about a year ago and made him manager of one of our sites. Talk about a conflict of interests, which is ironic given that she's always going on about professionalism.
The CEO recently made her son 'business development manager' which I find highly inappropriate given that his last attempt to bring in business was such a massive failure.
Are the management here going to eat shit? I highly doubt it.

Fair enough, but I know plenty of people in senior management jobs, from call centres to the COO of a major bank, all of whom are quite non-arseholey and none have got where they are by 'bullshitting'. They're all like you and me, believe it or not. What they don't have is a self-imposed ceiling of ambition predicated on an ill-conceived negative view of their 'superiors'. If you can't beat them...
You don't want to end up like Aaron, do you?
