» LOT 49 Presents Meat Katie ‘Sampler 1’

Reviewed by Greg Zizique / Submitted 17-05-07 12:21

Label: LOT 49
Format: 12" Vinyl
Genre: Breaks/ Electro

Two absolute monster tunes feature on this compilation sampler, namely Dylan Rhymes ‘Muzika’ (Rogue Element Remix) and Jamie McHugh ‘Yeah’. The compilation is an exploration of Meat Katie’s Djing style and sound. It’s relentless and vibeing from start to finish.

First up is a classic tune ‘Muzika’ re-worked by Rogue Element who’s literally on fire at the moment, and in turn provides a pure filth fest. Raw, gritty driving jam packed with energy and grows and builds the momentum to an epic peak for an extremely phatt sound. Tough heavy beats and dark breakdowns and banging kicks make it a heavy workout, hard to classify, but expect breaks, house and electro heads with any sense to pick up on this one, a sure fire peak time acidic pressured bomb loaded with killer sounds and effects to drop in any set.

Finishing the sampler off is Jamie McHugh’s debut on LOT 49 ‘Yeah’. Jamie’s been very busy with forthcoming tracks on Brique Rouge, Twisted Frequency and CR2, his “AWOL” track blistered its way through to house, electro and breaks Dj’s boxes for severe workouts! This time round we get an amalgamation of his deeper much more almost techno sounding and inspired vibes, collided with a break beat meets house’d up feeling that builds into a pumping track. Having an electro edge throughout, its new breed styled material that will sure get some underground floors moving and shaking.

If you pick up the full album, Lot 49 Presents : Meat Katie, A DJ Compilation, you’ll have your hands on some of the hottest material from Lot 49!
