As a HarderFaster reader you would have seen the name Comfortably Numbed grace these pages previously due to the beat slewing South African duo the Greg & Baltazar. After various parties and events the duo team up with Jon Fynn to launch there next phase of global beats armed and ready for attention, this time around, presenting Comfortably Numbed Digital.
Using the phrase "Blissed 'n Twisted House & Techno" you know your going to be treated to some cracking and downright cranking beats and electronic sounds. For there first release we see a debut from Australian duo Chardy & Tani "t" Knight. Having met over 4 years ago, their complementing djing styles quickly helped to bring the duo together and inevitably to the studio.
Starting the EP off with the titled "That Hurts!" you get a deep steady broody building groover. Dark carving tones rest underneath for a techy driven bass laiden nu breed house meets minimal techno inspired vibed workout that throbs the speaker. Jon Fynn provides the first remix and opts for a more energetic workout. Still in keeping to the Original but a more solid groove led beat and sounds and switching bass makes it a little more interesting in the mix. Extra sounds help to build on the Originals mood and it takes you further down the path, for a later night sound.
Janders supplies an alternative mix and has a tougher kicking drum mix journey, yet again till keeps the mood there, but builds again developing it a little further with more intensity to it. A lovely deep dark breakdown with a more varying beat before finishing things off suitably keeps it twisted.
The final track "In The Jungle" sees Chardy & t Knight go for a low down pumping electronic twisted edged sound. Pure peak time driving and intense sounds all sit together and steady build to drop for a floor fresh moment until working the vibe back out till the end for that important release.
Available on all major download sites from the 10th August 2007.
