Sharam Jey

» Don’t Lie

Reviewed by Greg Zizique / Submitted 20-05-08 22:04

Label: King Kong
Format: CD
Genre: Tech House, Minimal, House

Originally a Hooj Choons release way back in 1999, Sharam Jey’s classic Don’t Lie is back with a string of remixes from Martin Buttrich, Dj Fex, LouLou Players and Nick K. This is the second track lifted from the new Classic Editions Series. Originally Dj support came in from Tenaglia, Garnier, Cox, Sasha etc.

Martin Buttrich starts us off with opening a stuttery vocal hooked mix, a dreamy bassline and croaking electronic spacey ambient effects add to the fill. Dj Fex uses a bubbly synth that’s bright fresh and nagging with its effect of the echo for a little trippy mix that’s got a clear punch and drive to it without going to hectic or to ploddy.

LouLou Players grind the track down for a stripped back affair before unleashing some tough electro noises to the mix. A clever peak time nu breed mix that oozes class. Nick K adds a low slung bassline that has a more understated offering to its approach.

A varied mix package but something for the fans to get there teeth into for sure.
