» Cr2 presents Mark Brown & Micky Slim

Reviewed by Greg Zizique / Submitted 21-05-08 13:05

Label: Cr2
Format: 2 x CD
Genre: House, Electro House, Tech House

I for one love these instalments Cr2 provide of recent big label hitters, but also some dirty underground fresh new mixes of past and future gems to be had. I always take it as a snapshot and preview to what’s around the corner for the label, and with one half of MYNC Project - Mark Brown, and Electro House all round star rouge Micky Slim on the case, its going to be a filthy feast of beats.

CD1 from Mark Brown includes the ever great John Dahlback, with more sterling solid efforts plus the mammoth Pryda cut F12 before slipping into some dirt from Popof, Style of Eye and its great to see some Harry Choo Choo Romero in there as well for good measure. Marks journey is just that, a touching mix of blended modern upfront house, with deeper, dubbier selections intermingled.

CD2 and its Micky Slim, while there is an abundance amount of his own tracks/remixes included there all good, so will let that pass this time. All of his recent gems like House of Pain, Star Jackers etc feature and sit alongside the awesome bass wobblers of Stupid Fresh and Foamo which if you on the floors right now, no doubt you would have been shaking that leg to.

It’s a solid jam packed double CD that certainly has got plenty of tasty tracks for the stereo.
