Kid Massive

» I Don't Wanna Be A Freak

Label: Floorplay
Format: Digital
Genre: House

Brighton label Floorplay releases its fourth new track from a familiar as hell name Kid Massive. James & Ben from Floorplay (aka Prok & Fitch) are committed to releasing their own new bombs but are also looking to bring through the hottest of their contemporaries. As an in demand remixer, Kid Massive aka (Benjamin Pederson from Denmark) previously has appeared on Illegal Beats, Toolroom, Gossip and Oxyd amongst many others.

I Don't Wanna Be A Freak uses a rather fetching and hypnotic vocal sample pitched down for a great effect. With deep pulsating clattering drums, loaded percussion and tribalistic hooks that combine with deep spaced out effects and harsh sounds that build up to a momentous dance floor frenzy. Really tripped out production and a deep tech riding breakdown really give it the moody edge with this Dirty Mix.

The Jacked Up mix uses a more bouncy edge and punchy grooving orientated flow. With more electro inspired sounds and bassy effects, bleeps and noises it’s a little groovier and shaking, still deep due to the vocal though. A nice alternative mix, but the Dirty mix is somewhat just that – dirty.
