Lutzenkirchen

» Out of the Ordinary

Reviewed by Greg Zizique / Submitted 22-01-09 15:03

Label: Spin Out Records
Format: Digital
Genre: Techno, Tech House

Having had countless underground hits in recent years, Lutzenkirchen’s second release on Spin Out, after last years Time Warp EP is an enthralling journey.

Driving percussive tech laden riding bouncy bright and pumping techno inspired grooves is the order of the day. Building slowly and adding reverb and delay effects on the cool snappy percussion to get the energy busting out to the seems creates a solid foundation for the rest of the track. A deep but driving bass line pushes the track further along until the bringing in of a synth line melody plus some additional effects to layer it up with white noise to build, the track effortlessly glides along further again and it’s a restless beast!

Providing us with an additional ‘extraordinary’ edit of the original, Lutzenkirchen zaps things for n even more further punishing energetic offering. Still using the driving bass line put jam packing it loading the flow to a maximum dizzy height with deeper and bigger quirky percussive supplies a serious thump. Later on he adds a new synth melody that simply tears it apart, it’s a big one.

Tim Weeks offers the remix treatment and has already proven that he has the knowledge and the ability to produce new breed dance floor killers. Previous releases ‘Fashionably Late’ on Leaders of the New School and his last release in the form of a remix of ‘Restless’ for Opaque Music sat in the Top Ten Beatport chart for weeks on end. Taking things low down, deep dirty and tech house in some ways but cleverly bright and warm as well in places the bass bubbles around and moves to create a peak time new style slant and take on matters that’s some nice tension built in places for a rocking underground trip and journey through modern day nu groove.
