» Game Over (Dave Spoon Rmx)

Reviewed by Greg Zizique / Submitted 03-09-09 20:35

Label: Island
Format: Digital
Genre: House

When you see Dave Spoon on a remix package, even of a commercial inclined artist, you know he’ll make a clever rendition to the melting pot, and yep, he has big time.

Chunky, groovy and musical basis loops up the start and Mr. Spoon uses the vocal to loop it and pick up to a charged deep electro styled bass but adds a modern touch of down right dirty-ness with a nagging edge.

He still uses the vocals, but in a sparse way that just gives a fresh stance to the sound before the charging bass drives it forward and showcases a much more genre busting sound from Dave that will wrestle between electro and house every time.

He’s definitely overhauled this into a groove based workout with modern flow and big hitting production values.
